Single  parent, one income

One thing I’ve come across over the past few years is that it’s difficult being a single mother! I keep coming across people having this perception of me that I either have a lot of money or because I have a career, I should have money saved up on money to spare. A lot of people fail to understand the fact that when you’re talking about me ....yes, I might have a career, but at the end of the day I am a single mother of not just one but two kids. If you’re talking finances; I will work 24/7 just to make sure that my kids are going to the best schools that promotes cultural difference and welcomes them for who they are! I want to be able to give my kids the best education in the best schools around. So going back to where I started. I like to budget just about everything I do. Many do not, I’ll say it again many do not know the sacrifices that comes with being a single mother accepting an offer( financial wise) from those around them. A lot of people I know are either married with/without kids or they’re single with no kids. At the end of the day those that are married have two incomes coming from their household and those that are not married do not have kids, that means you DO NOT have another mouth to feed. I don’t want you to have that perception of me that I have lots of money. I know how to budget myself! Now if you tell me something cost a certain amount of money and at the end of the day it cost more, that becomes very inconvenient for me at that moment because I was planning to spend a certain amount and I budget for that amount. Always remember that either you are single and don’t have another mouth to feed or that you are married and you have two incomes coming in the house. I’m starting to think that many people don’t understand the financial burdens and struggles that comes with being a single parent. A single parent that is a teacher( teachers don’t make much at all!) Also remember having a child is a huge change in your life, no matter how financially secure you may be. since it costs nearly a quarter of a million dollars to raise a child today, and I have two.

ISAIAH 41:10

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
